The
popular greeting at the Central Pacific coast is "Pura
Vida" (pure life, good life and what a life)

the Sea.
Playa
Herradura, Jaco Beach, and Hermosa are a one and half
hour drive from San Jose and the closest beaches from
the Central Valley. These areas are popular for surfing,

you travel south there are undiscovered jewels of

Reserve is the one of the most visited parks in Costa

beaches and picnicking. This community boasts the
flavor of cultural diversity and is very popular with
Americans and Europeans and offers a quality lifestyle
with continuing investment growth Playa Domincal,
Matapalo and Uvita are small rural towns offering
a quiet, slower paced and unhurried lifestyle. The
hills of these Playas offer some incredible ocean
view and you will enjoy the cool breeze from the Sea.

here. Dominical has endless beaches to explore and
the wonderful Baru Waterfall with many others in close

you leave Dominical and go east up the rolling mountains
to San Isidro De General, you will find some spectacular
valley and ocean views. This area is a peaceful agricultural

for some open range will find this area delightful.
In fact one community is named Valley of the Horses
which is most appropriate.
San
Isidro de General is the second larges city in Costa
Rica. You will find a variety of stores of convenience
for whatever your needs may be. This is a great mid-country
location to use for a base. You can hike the highest
mountain range Chirripo or soothe yourself from hiking
in the thermal waters at San Gerardo de Rivas. Ride
horses through the mountains, explore the jungles
and forests to hidden waterfalls. For those who like
to climb there are falls to reach and slide down into
the pool below. Visit the petroglyphs, spheres or
watch the oxen carry their loads of Palm Oil. This
is half way point between the borders of Nicaragua
and Panama. The weather is 85 degrees during the day
and cooling off in the evenings.
